While former employees of the Matinyani group have used their aquired knowledge for new successful ventures, the Women’s group is defunct. It’s former headquarter lies desertedt. It is partly rented out to the Electoral Commission – which hints to political ties. Another building of a former workshop is decaying rapidly. The group’s operations were already faltering when it became an “Expo 2000 Project”. They finally closed around 2005. Former employees say: “The money went into other people’s pockets. The staff could not be paid any more. So they left.”
